These Ten Future Classics Cost Less Than $20k And Could Make You Money

Last week, I posed a challenge: find cars on eBay that would appreciate in value over the coming years, with a maximum budget of $20k. It seems I've successfully figured out a way to crowdsource financial advice for free apparently. These are the ten cars our readers think could make you money.

10. Saturn Sky Redline

Here's a GM that broke the monotonous mold: A turbo, rear-wheel drive, convertible that has striking looks and a low production number. This one also has the added bonus of having nearly no miles and one owner, in amazing condition. It's definitely a keeper.

9. BMW 850i

A v12 mated to a manual transmission. For under 20 grand. There's nothing more to say, other than this engine is a relative of the world beater in the McLaren F1. A modern classic for sure, and they won't be making any more of these, so scoop this one up immediately.

8. Mercedes 500 SEC

Here's a pillarless Mercedes coupe built for monarchs, at a time when the car would outlast the country's next 3 regimes. It's everything a Mercedes should be.

(Suggested by sm70- why not Duesenberg?)

7. E46 BMW M3

This car is so perfect that I actually bought one, which will be for sale soon. It's the last of the naturally aspirated, rev-happy, 6-cylinder M3s, and it's likely to be the most balanced M3 ever made. This one is an '06 ZCP coupe, which only adds to the already astronomical desirability factor.

6. Jaguar XKR

This is still the best car to take on a hot date, while "accidentally" leaving your wallet at home. It's also due to appreciate because of its iconic lines, awesome performance, and timeless good looks.

(Suggested by sm70- why not Duesenberg?)

5. Mazda RX-7 FD

This is another car that I bought, restored and sold, although I probably should ave waited a bit, as these will certainly appreciate in the coming years. The styling is unrivaled, and looks just as relevant now as it did 21 years ago. This one is a pristine example with seriously low miles, which is worth a look for sure.

4. Acura NSX

This one's a bit obvious. Who wouldn't want a well-built, rare, Japanese, mid-engined supercar?

Easy, Acura NSX, of course. And it's a first gen, aka the better one. 100% stock, 800th NSX ever made. The prices will go way up when the next gen NSX finally is released.

This is the car that proved that there is such a thing as a 4-door sports car.

A small production run of seriously fast turbocharged pickups and SUVs from GM in the 90s? Sign me up.

An all-American, Hemi-powered shooting brake so rare that there aren't any for sale on eBay currently. Want.
